What is Vaping?

Vaping is the inhaling of a vapor created by an vaping device, also called Vape Device.

Vape Devices are powered by battery. The basic Vape concept is a coil that heats when electric charges, the heat is transferred to a cotton soaked with the vaping liquid called e-juice or e-liquid. The liquid is heated into a vapor, which the person inhales.

What is E-juice or E-liquid?

E-liquid or E-juice is how is called the liquid used into vaping devices. They are made of:

  • Propylene glycol: Propylene glycol is a viscous, colorless liquid, which is nearly odorless but possesses a faintly sweet taste. It is a common food additive or ingredient in cosmetic products, spices, and natural flavors.
  • Vegetable glycerin: Vegetable glycerin, also known as glycerol or glycerine, is a clear liquid typically made from soybean, coconut or palm oils. Vegetable glycerin is particularly popular in the cosmetic industry but has several other uses as well. It may also provide health benefits, ranging from skin health to better hydration and a strengthened gut. (Source: healthline.com)

  • Nicotine (optional): Optionally, nicotine can be added to the liquid what allow smokers to look at vaping as an alternative and possible a step to full smoke quitting.

All ingredients used to make e-juices are easily found and because of that, some Vape users like to make their own juice. Alternatively you can buy then  read to use with or without nicotine and even choose the nicotine strength.

Types of Vape Devices

You can find Vape devices in several forms and shape but at the end they all have a battery to provide energy, a recipient filled or to be filled with e-juice and a coil to be heated and generate vapor and a mouth piece where you inhale it. Here are the most common devices available:

They came pre-filled with an e-juice that you can choose your flavor and strength from the information on the package. It comes with a pre-charged that lasts enough to consume all the e-juice included. When the device runs out of juice it cant be used anymore.
  • Disposable Pod system Devices: With disposable pod systems you have your device with a built-in battery that you can recharge and separately are sold the pods filled with e-juices. When the pod runs out of liquid it can't be used again, you buy a new full filled pod.

  • Vape Mod Setup: These are open systems, nothing needs to be disposable ( besides the coils that eventually get old and worn ). You have the Mod System, this is the central piece, with or without built-in battery and you controls that can be as simple as a single button to a modern colored LCD display to manage your vaping experience power, duration, inhales counts.... Apart the Mod you have a Tank to be attached, this is where you fill with e-juice, and inside the Tank you put your coil. Nowadays you can buy packs of coils to change when the current ones get to old. To use this device you need to buy your e-juice apart.

In short words, with a full closed system like Disposable devices, your concern is to buy a new device when your runs out of juice.
